Ghajini: A Joke

Short Term Memory Loss:
15 Minutes after the show only two types of movies are remembered
1. Good Ones(out of happiness)
2. Very bad ones(Out of frustration)

Ghajini is none of them.. The movie is about the short term memory loss of Sanjay Singhania(Amir Khan). How he takes revenge of the killers of his wife. Apart from AMir and Asin, all other actors look sub-standard.(Cost cutting in recession might be..)

As Rediff.com rightly quotes:

"I saw a fantastic Aamir Khan film the other night, one where his obsession with
a pretty woman led to him being clubbed on the head with a generic looking rod.
The blunt force trauma led to amnesia, or so claimed Khan's character, leading
to a wickedly fun plot, rife with both misunderstanding and subterfuge. Awesome
stuff, Andaz Apna Apna."
Ghajini was so not like Andaz Apna Apna...

I had become a Amir Khan fan after some of the finest performances in Fanaa and RDB.. But, I had totally forgotten that he was the same person who made Mangal Pandey... I share similar feelings for Ghajini... "A overhyped, over budgeted, possibly overrated flick.."

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Review

After some of the BlockBuster hits like DeshDrohi, Yuvraj, EMI, Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi... Bollywood was desperatly waiting for a utter bakwas flop movie.. I believe Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (RNBDJ) serves the very purpose... Only in a opposite way..

Chopra's have again created the magic.. and no wonder RNBDJ will be the most successful movie of the year..

The story is very simple, without many characters.. The versatile acting of Shahrukh can be clearly seen from the two characters he plays in the film.. Surindar Sahni(Suri) and Raj(Naam to Suna hi hoga Fame).. The movie starts with a tragic incident when the 'Baraat Bus' meets with an accident, in which no one survives... Tani(Anushka Sharma), the bride, is then asked to marry Suri by her father... ( Their marraige can be compared to a hypothetical marriage of say Katrina Kaif(hot) and Tussar Kapur(Mamu))..

The story is then set up in Amritsar.. Suri owns a big house in the city.. and he works in "Punjab Power", whose tagline is "Pujab Power, Lightening your lives".. Then movie takes a comedy turn and the jokes are more created by the situation than funny lines..

Later the story revolves around the dance competition and some of the most melodious songs..

For the whole story... Go to ur nearest theatre and grab a RNBDJ ticket...
Better late than never..

7 Things Indian Government must do against Pakistan

.The three-day-long terror strike on the country's financial capital was devastating in terms of its reach and impact. It has left Corporate India badly shaken and the elites numb.

It is no longer about only Malegaon or Govindpuri residents losing limbs and lives. Terror has now climbed up the value chain. As the new age entrepreneur Kiran Majumdar Shaw told a newspaper, "So far, the terrorists targeted common people. Now the society's elite, the business sector, is the target. What happened in Mumbai is a loud wake-up call for all of us to do something to protect ourselves."

In the last ten years, not a single session of any seminar sponsored by the CII or Ficci or business/general journals has focused on terrorism.

Now, at least, terrorism is being realized as a problem facing the country.

Let us summarize what the real situation is and what the corporate sector should do if we are serious in fighting terrorism on our soil.

1. Recognize and treat Pakistan as a terrorist state. The state policy of Pakistan is terrorism and their single-point programme is to destroy India. This needs to be internalized by every business baron including the owners of media.

2. Now, the elite of Pakistan are more angry, since India is growing at 7% and Pakistab are given CCC rating and stiff conditions for borrowing from the IMF. So, our aim should be to catch up with China and not be equal with Pakistan.

3. Pakistan is the only territory in the world where an army has a whole country under its control. This is an important issue since studies have found that a large number of corporates in Pakistan are ultimately owned by different wings of armed forces.
Hence, do not try to think of Pakistan without its army, irrespective of who rules that country temporarily and nominally. At least 70% of the market capitalization of the Karachi stock exchange is owned by the army and related groups.

4. There are three groups in India, who are obsessed with friendship with Pakistan.

a. One is the oldies born in that part before partition and who are nostalgic about the Lahore havelis, halwas and mujras.
b. The second is the Bollywood and other assorted groups, who look at it as a big market. The Dawood gang has financed enough of these useful idiots.
c. The third is the candle light holding bleeding heart liberals (BHLs) who cannot imagine India doing well without its younger brother taken care of.

All three have been proved wrong hundreds of times, but they are also opinion makers. Shun them, avoid them and ridicule them.

5. We should categorically, unambiguously, unequivocally boycott Pakistan in all aspects for a decade or more. Be it art, music, economy, commerce, or other hand-holding activities. That army-controlled state has to realise that it has done enough damage to global civilisation.

More than 100 acts/attempts of terror recorded in the world since 9/11 have had their roots in Pakistan. More than 40% of the prisoners in Guantanamo are Pakistanis.

6. We should recognize that it is our war and nobody in the world is going to wage it on our behalf. What the Americans are thinking, or what the Britishers are going to do, will not help. A determined country should have a sense of dignity and independence to fight its war.

We should stop interviewing leaders from that country who mouth the same inanities that "you have not produced any proof." The Government of India should perhaps create a museum of proof between India Gate and North Block.

I am amazed that a country of a billion is required even to furnish proof. If one-sixth of humanity says that the terrorist state of Pakistan is the root cause of global terrorism -- it is factual. Let us not fall into the trap of providing proof to the culprits.

7. We have made a grave blunder by suggesting in the international fora that "Pakistan is also a victim of terror." That is a grave error and it will haunt us for decades. They are perpetrators and our government is in deep illusion if it tries to distinguish between organs of power in that country thinking it is like India.

There is only one organ, namely its army (with ISI as a sub-organ) in that country, which owns and controls at least 70% of the GDP in that country.

If we want the world to treat Pakistan for what it is, then we should start practicing it. Always call it the 'terrorist state of Pakistan' and never have any illusion that it is going to be any different.

If corporate India, including electronic/ print media, starts practicing this, we should see results in a few years.

Are the elites listening?

The Admission Drive Expedition

.
.

I started off my journey to Hyd on 4th Dec.. I was accompanied by vaishnav.. urf Paranoid. Thanks to my old roomies (Omkar, Praveen, Varun), I had a house to stay in Hyderabad. When I reached thr, To my surprise Miyan(Omkar) had gone for playing cricket. He seemed to be in a weight loss mood.. As per him "Half a Kg a day.. keeps the doctor away".

After spending around 3.5k on bike fines and 500 bucks as bribe, I finally got the NOC done. So Now I can proudly say my bike is "Legal".

On Friday, I met my Oracle teammates. They gave me a wonderful reception. And whats more, they had planned a team lunch.. So my Lunch was for free..
Old friends, new Oracle politics.. I came to know the latest tricks these managers are trying to play.. (But I never say anything against Oracle, after all it was my first company). Had a laughter.. shared my SCMHRD miseries with them..

n By Now, I was all set to meet the SNAPians on Sunday. Excited, Nervous and Confident.. all at the same time.

Sometimes in your life.. Everything falls in one place.. Couple of days before the drive, I was a bit nervous ( Tho I never showed the nervousness to my frnds..). So, I prepared for all sort of questions people were going to ask.

I reached the Audi at 12.15am, just to find that Vaishnavi hasn't still reached the place. Neither the Speaker guy nor the projector one... Dekhte hi dekhte it was 2pm. People had started comin, but no sign of arrangements. Finally, speakers and projector was setup in front of the 200 strong gathered crowd. Although delayed the program finally started at 2.45.

After a video and presentation, people asked some 45-50 questions.. But, I didnt find any of them grilling as such.. But, ya, It was a different experience..

"Praising something(SCMHRD), which you don't love much...!!"

Ya... I mastered that art as well.

Chalo. Will take your leave.
I am now at my home place. Eating Home food.
Will go to Pune tomorrow.
Vaishali has scheduled two tests.. one on 11th n other on 12th.. Testing times ahead.
Sayonara.

Commando vs Cricketers

...
...
Do not worry about those who have come thrrough boats..
Our forces can easily defeat them..

WORRY about those who have come thru votes....
Those are our REAL ENEMIES….

What a shame and disgrace to every citizen of India that the elite NSG Force was transported into ordinary BEST buses, whereas our cricketers are transported into state of the art luxury buses.

These Jawans lay down their lives to protect every Indian and these cricketers get paid even if they lose a match, we worship these cricketers and forget the martyrdom of these brave Jawans. The Jawans should be paid the salaries of the cricketers and the cricketers should be paid the salaries of the Jawans.

Our NSG, BSF, ARMY, do not have a dedicated AIRCRAFT to perform rapid operations, while every tom dick n harry Minister is travelling through his Personalized Helicopter....!!!

Our Navy has total 25 Heavy artillery loaded ships, while a country named Korea which is smaller than Chattisgarh has 250 Heavy artillery loaded ships for the security of there coasts.

An ace shooter shoots and gets gold medal, govt gives 1crore, another shooter dies while shooting terrorist, govt gives 5 lakh.

WHO DESERVES MORE…………
Our Commando's or Cricketers??

Huh.. This is our India....
It Happens Only In India...

Terrorizing Mumbai...

.
.
Last week the news were dominated by

1. VP Singh's death,

2. Neev'08 (Fest of SCMHRD) and

3. Mumbai Terror Attack....

Much of it was by the later..

"What a attack it was! Perfectly planned. 10 people from other country coming to India with enough ammunation to take on the best Commando's from India. The events unfolded as they would have in a typical Bollywood Action movie.. Hats off to the Terrorists.."
Saying that would sound sarcastic.. And Ya, It does.

But, We should give terrorist the credit for what they have achieved. Fighting NSG for 72 hours.. Killing dozens of people... Just what their bosses had told them.. The planning and execution was meticulous.

You must be wondering, Wtf I am writing over here.. But, I am getting to my point.. Hang On..

After the incident, now it is pretty clear that the people who planned and executed this mission were real brainy and intelligent people. At the tender age of 21, he knew how to enter India, how to bribe Navy people, how to fight against best of the commondos. No one would have ever Imagined that a group of 10 people can rule the city of Mumbai and bring this Busy city to a standstill.

But, If they were so good.. Then why are they wasting their talent. They can work with the government to protect people. If they don't like the way governement functions, They can work with a private Security agency and enjoy handsome pay packages. Working with terrorist organizations and then ultimately dying, does not bring any good to Them nor their Families nor The Nation.

Over the years, Staying underground, These Terrorist Organizations have been able to find such talented youths to fight for them. Then why Indian Government is not able to find talent among 1 billion Indians..??? What terrorist organizations offer that our Government is not able to give??

Signing off.. on this incomplete thought and letting you Think.. What We and the Government should do??

After all, Our life is at stake.. not government's..!!

My Orkut Profile

Long time Pending Post... It goes like this..

I have surmounted Mount Everest, thrice. I swam across the length of the Atlantic, twice.I can cook 2-minute noodles in 1 minute flat. I have taught Sachin how to bat, Shahrukh how to act and coached Sania on the glamour in Tennis. Laloo & Sonia learnt the art of politics from me. When I talk everyone listens. My sensuous lips and winsome smile are the most common cause of women fainting at parties.

My muscular, "aerodynamically-contoured", adonis body is on the cover of magazines around the world. In my free time, I build dams, bridges and spaceships. Paris Hilton, Angelina, Katrina, Priyanka, Kareena, Ash & many other women are madly in love with me. Americans idolize me, Indians worship me & Pakistanis despise me.

The tsunami happened because I sneezed. I vacationed in Iraq during the gulf war. Black Holes are my preferred weekend getaways. I have gunned down 135.5 terrorists in Kashmir. I can stay without a bath for 17 weeks at a stretch and still smell mint-fresh! I'm older than Dev Anand but look younger than Shahid Kapoor.

I had the courage to watch "RGV ki Aag" and was still alive at the end of the movie. I'm the ghost-writer for JK Rowling, Mark Twain, Jules Verne, Shakespeare, Shashi Tharoor, Vikram Seth & even Chetan Bhagat. I have regular conversations with the spirits of Mahatma Gandhi & Hitler.

I can make people believe all the lies I tell.

Its me.. - VALLABH KULKARNI!
Welcome to my World....

Go Obama Go...

In another 12 hours, A new American president will be elected. Seeing the exit polls it is pretty much clear that Obama is going to win the elections.

Some of the reasons why I feel McCain will lose the elections:

1. The current political environment

President George Bush has the lowest job approval ratings in modern times, even lower than Richard Nixon's during the Watergate scandal. Nine in 10 Americans also think that things are on the wrong track.

2. Brand damage

McCain damaged his 'maverick' reputation by coddling up to the religious right and President Bush.

And that damage was exacerbated in how his campaign has been conducted over the last few months - negative attacks which voters could care less about and emphasising issues which only conservatives seemed to care.

3. Sarah Palin

Picking her for vice-president made McCain look like a total political opportunist as the US public concluded she was unqualified.

Swing and moderate voters were also put off by her views on many issues and her personal attacks on the Democratic ticket.

4. Debates

It is very unusual for one side to win every single debate, and Obama did, according to most opinion polls. Biden also best Palin.

5. Financial meltdown

The way McCain handled the challenge didn't give voters much comfort. Even before Wall Street collapsed, the economy was already the number one issue. And with the meltdown, it became even more important.

Sense of Purpose

My first post after joining SCMHRD. A serious one. Thought of writing on this topic after filling up the M & M application form.

Life is harsh. In today’s world 5 senses are not enough…!! Now we have to worry about sense of humor, sense of purpose, sense of having senses.. bla bla bla..

Most people around seem to be carrying out their daily lives in a predetermined sequence of actions to earn their livelihood, raise their families, make some money, et al. How many people really execute their lives with a sense of purpose and mission? Does life have a greater meaning, a goal, a serious sense of purpose, for most people?

I think not even educated and professional folks seem to be having a comprehensive vision on what they wish to achieve in life. Recently I was reminded of this when I saw the question on future plans and vision in Mahindra & Mahindra application form for my summer placements. Organizations seem to be wanting to find out which applicants have a higher sense of purpose in life, which one of them have really thought through what they wish to do with their lives, is there any role envisaged for a service to the society at large, etc., This set me thinking, as I was also searching for a meaning in life’s greater landscape.

I read an article “For too many unenlightened people, life has no meaning, no ever-present goal that gives them daily purpose. But for a person who wakes up every morning with an acute itch, what to do next is self-evident”.

During the placements till now, I observed one thing. People are desperate for an internship. They don’t care which company they are going to, what they will be doing there…!! These are the people which don’t think of future. They are least bothered about it. I call them “Future Parasites” on their parents.

Having a sense of purpose is more critical than just feeling good. One may dress well, have the right kind of diet, work-out to maintain a trim figure, engage in social networking at parties, etc., but I think all of this and more are not the same as developing, focusing and maintaining a clear sense of direction and purpose in life. By doing so, I would not be surprised if one also feels good and achieves good health. Meaning appears to be more important than Form. Coming together they would be a potent combination for success and fulfillment in life. It also leads to happiness in whatever you set out to do in life.

One’s sense of purpose is very important to leverage and maximize one’s potential, creativity, and imagination. It helps to focus intensely at life’s problems and opportunities and helps one to make the right move forward. Think of the power of purpose! If only you can align and focus your energies and passion going after the purpose in life!! You could achieve what an Einstein achieved in his life. Never defocus from your greater sense of purpose in life.

Have a wonderful week ahead, folks!

And write down your Statement of Purpose right away, if you don’t have one as yet!!
